After ministering in a conference, a young pastor within my age bracket came and told me how much he admired my dress sense. He was very particular about my shoes.
He further said he loves the way I stand out in our denomination and how much my teachings blessed him. He said he would love to be like me.
I love teaching people what I know because I know the sky is too big for two birds to clash.
I was expecting him to ask me questions, that if answered will help him in ministry. But he asked me a funny question. “Sir I love your shoes, where did you buy them?”
Though I was embarrassed, I told him where I bought the shoe and how much it cost.
He now said…”Ahhh, sir , it’s costly o. Pray for me to be like you and wear this kind of shoes”
Brethren, how do I pray such a prayer? When I know that it’s the things I know, that gives me what I have.
Parasites want what you have earned.. but proteges want what you have learned.
Before you earn, you need to learn. Every success has a background knowledge.
Anyways, I took out some time to format his mindset, he has also since then been a good protege, have learned to ask the right questions around mentors.
I got his permission to share this story.
There is a story behind every glory. Before you desire the glory, first seek to know the story.
Nice one sir, how I wish we mentor associate right. no cross no crown.
